Annual Senior Impact Scholarships
The Nursing Home Law Center LLC is proud to endow two annual scholarships to help students pay for the costs of university tuition. Two scholarships for $1,000 will be awarded.
One scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in an undergraduate program. A second scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in a law school.
The scholarship awards are to be used for tuition and will be paid directly to the student.
Senior Impact Scholarship Requirements
As advocates for the legal rights of seniors in nursing homes, the Nursing Home Law Center is reminded of the impact that this demographic has had on their families and friends.
In an effort to honor this contribution, we want to hear from you about the impact an elder has had on your life and path in school or career. Please submit an essay of no more than 1,200 words explaining who the senior is and how they have impacted your life. If possible, a photo of you with this person would be appreciated.
A committee of judges at the Nursing Home Law Center will determine the winners.
Senior Impact Scholarship Application Requirements
Applicants must comply with the following:
- U.S. citizenship
- Enrollment at an accredited college or university within the United States
- Prepare a typed essay explaining how an older person in your life has impacted your course of study or career path. 1,200 words maximum. Please put your name, address and email at the top o the document.
- An official or unofficial transcript from an accredited college or university that includes your most recent semester
Submission Requirements
We only accept scholarship materials via email. Please submit material to: info@nursinghomelawcenter.org
Deadlines
All materials must be submitted no later than May 15, 2019. Submissions received after that date will automatically be eligible for scholarships the following year. Winners will be announced no later than June 15, 2019.
Other Information
Scholarship recipients are responsible for a tax implications a monetary award may have on their Federal or State taxes. All submitted materials may be published by Nursing Home Law Center LLC on the website.
